Savitri doesn't have any choice apart from accepting Menka in their family. Suryakant gathered the support of his mother and sisters. It shocked Savitri and makes her helpless. And as expected, the nightmare of Savitri becomes true, when one day Suryakant comes in the house with Menka (acted by Tanushree Kaushal) as his second spouse. His family Pandit suggests that he still has putr-yog and soon will be blessed with it but for that, something drastic has to be done. Things become more complicated when doctors declare that due some biological and medical issues Savitri will never be able to conceive in upcoming future.
No one is happy in the family except her mother and elder sisters. Savitri gives birth to a little girl, all expectations and dreams of Garodia family are pulverised once again. Savitri feels helpless with her three daughters Saraswati, Gauri, Durga and now newly born baby Lakshmi, (Acted by Kshitee Jog, Aleeza Khan, Smriti Mohan and Twinkle Bajpai) respectively. Even, Suryakant’s mother is very optimistic about it. Finally, the delivery day comes, and it’s the day of auspicious Diwali.Īll of them are thinking that this Diwali will make a mark with the footprints of the heir to Garodia family. Apart from this, pandits have made a prophecy that this is the time they will be awarded with a boy child. This time, Suryakant is very hopeful of having a baby boy in his home. After the birth of three daughters, when his wife Savitri (acted by Aishwarya Narkar) expecting a baby for the fourth time. But the matter which worries Suryakant is that will this honour and family business end with him, Will there be no one else from his family or next generation who will follow this decades-old family pride and business.
His work is not just a business for him it is the matter of respect and pride for him. His past four generations were in the business to make traditional Gujarati ‘Bandhanis’ and because of this, he is one of the most richest and respected men of that area. He is an honourable businessman of the city. Yatin Karyekar (acted as Suryakant Garodia) belongs to the same category. It illustrates conservative thinking of those people who still lives in the era that society and family business can be supervised by men only. This story belongs to a Gujarati family that illustrate the mentality and thinking of the middle-class and upper-class families of our society.
